Bronze finished base

Above are mostly traditional dragonfly shades based on Louis Comfort Tiffany's original artistic designs in the late 1800's. The method of production has changed as technology has moved along as it does over a 100 years. Below are the new age dragonfly shades, which although based on traditional designs fit sometimes more harmoniously into todays décor. In some cases the dragonfly has been fused & slumped in kilns at great temperatures giving them a multi-coloured eye catching iridized glitter and rather like the symbolic belief that the dragonfly represents a new beginning so do the shades for the more modernistic approach to the change in room design. Each piece of glass is still individually cut, painstakingly wrapped in copper foil then soldered together. It is very time consuming but for those that like the simpler design well worth investigating & investing in.
