Puffy Lamps, these like the lamps below are similar to the originals, unfortunately there are not many of them :-( their were more but a possum decided to use them for a game of hopscotch and managed to topple quite a few, needless to say he/she is not welcome in the show room any more. They were irreplaceable so I am left with just but a few. Also like the lamps painted below they are produced by very talented people and the 3 dimensional look is increased by glass being molded.
The originals were produced from approximately 1907 and can be sold for a 5 digit figure.
These shades are similar to the original Pairpoint shades. (circa 1890 - 1920) They are executed in the original manner of being hand painted on the inside of the glass, forground before background. The thickness of glass gives the painting a soft 3 dimensional shadow as were the originals which were mainly floral or landscape designs. Modern stylised abstracts have been added to this great collection.
If you are lucky enough to afford an original you will know they were and and still are painted by highly specialised artists and can sell for a 6 dollar figure. These are not thousands of dollars but do retain the same quality as the more expensive ones.
